Job Description
Job Title: Instrumentation Engineer.
Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Instrumentation, or related field
Industry: Oil & Gas / Mining (Zinc)
Experience Required: 7–10 Years (preferred)
Key Responsibilities:
• Review and interpret all engineering drawings such as: • P&ID (Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams) • Instrument Loop Diagrams (ILD) • Hook-up Drawings • Cable Schedules and Termination Diagrams • Execute and supervise site activities including: • Cable tray routing and installation • Cable laying as per approved cable schedule • Glanding and termination of instrument and control cables • Perform: • Loop checking of field instruments and control systems • Calibration of field instruments (pressure, flow, level, temperature, etc.) • Pre-commissioning and commissioning activities • Handle DCS/PLC systems: • Fault finding and troubleshooting • I/O checking and signal verification • Coordination with control system vendors • Ensure proper documentation and compliance with QA/QC requirements: • Preparation and verification of test reports • Inspection reports and calibration certificates • Method statements and protocols • Coordinate with engineering, QA/QC, and construction teams to ensure timely project execution.
Required Skills: • Strong knowledge of instrumentation systems used in Oil & Gas and Mining industries • Expertise in drawing reading and interpretation • Hands-on experience in site construction and commissioning activities • Good understanding of QA/QC procedures and documentation • Familiarity with DCS/PLC systems (ABB, Siemens, or equivalent preferred) • Problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
