📢 Altrad Sparrows are looking for a Site Lifting Competent Person to join our Africa Contract team!
The main purpose of the role is to perform the role of nominated lifting Competent Person for the control of lifting all activities on the SAIPEM installation. Use of technical and practical knowledge to complete the following: inspect lifting equipment, answer queries about the suitability of lifting equipment, advise in the development and execution of lift plans and ensure that lifting equipment is only issued to those competent to use it. Ensure that all rigging activities are carried out on site as directed by SAIPEM representatives and in compliance with the relevant Company and client standards and procedures.
✅ Qualifications and Experience:
- OPITO LOLER Competent Person Certification
- Minimum 5 years offshore experience in a Rigging and Lifting position
- Planning/Scheduling experience
- Excellent communication skills
- Patience and persistence and ability to prioritise
- Excellent safety record
- Coaching or mentoring experience advantageous
