Job Description
I’m currently supporting a leading international offshore engineering and construction contractor with the appointment of a Rotating Equipment Engineer for an offshore project in Qatar.
This is a technically focused offshore role, supporting engineering, construction and commissioning activities on a major offshore platform development. The project scope is centred around a Central Processing Platform for Gas Compression, so the role requires a strong mechanical engineering background with proven rotating equipment experience.
The position will be operated offshore on a vessel and is suited to someone who can provide practical engineering support in a live project environment, working closely with construction, procurement, vendors, commissioning and project teams.
The role will involve:
• supporting rotating equipment engineering activities during project execution
• reviewing technical documentation, specifications, data sheets and vendor drawings
• supporting machinery package interfaces with other disciplines
• reviewing and commenting on vendor documentation
• assisting with technical evaluations, inspections, testing and engineering follow-up
• supporting fabrication, construction and commissioning activities
• providing site engineering support, clarification and technical input offshore
• assisting with as-built documentation and engineering modifications on site
• ensuring work is carried out in line with project QA/QC and HSE requirements

• rotating equipment engineering
• mechanical field engineering
• offshore platform construction or commissioning
• compressors, pumps, turbines or gas compression packages
• machinery packages and vendor interface
• EPC / EPCI offshore project environments
• fabrication, construction, pre-commissioning or commissioning support
• offshore oil and gas projects, ideally in the Gulf region
The ideal background would include experience as a Rotating Equipment Engineer, Mechanical Field Engineer, Machinery Engineer, Package Engineer, Mechanical Commissioning Engineer, Offshore Mechanical Engineer or similar.
A Mechanical Engineering degree/background is required, along with previous offshore experience and strong English communication skills.
This is an offshore, rotational assignment in Qatar with a leading international contractor. Start date is as soon as possible.
