Job Description
Ably Resources is supporting a major energy organisation in Doha with the appointment of several Fleet Operations Officers within its LNG shipping operations team.
This is a specialist LNG shipping operations role focused on the safe, efficient and commercially effective operation of chartered LNG vessels.
We are looking to speak with candidates who have operated in LNG or LPG fleet operations, marine operations, voyage operations, fleet coordination or a closely related shore-based shipping function.
The role may also suit experienced Master Mariners, Chief Engineers or senior LNG/LPG officers who have transitioned into shore-side operational positions and can bring strong vessel operations knowledge into a commercial shipping environment.
Key focus areas include:
• voyage instructions and vessel coordination
• LNG / LPG loading and discharging operations
• voyage execution and operational follow-up
• ETA management and contractual arrival notices
• delay, deviation, stoppage and disruption management
• bunkering coordination and voyage optimisation
• charter party requirements and operational compliance
• communication with vessel operators, masters, terminals, agents and internal stakeholders
• supporting documentation for performance, off-hire and operational claims
• incident response support and operational readiness
We are keen to speak with candidates who bring:
• 8+ years’ shipping operations experience
• strong LNG or LPG ship operations exposure
• previous experience in fleet operations, marine operations, voyage operations or vessel coordination
• good understanding of marine loading and discharge operations
• experience working with charter party requirements and voyage instructions
• ability to coordinate effectively with vessel operators, shipowners, masters, terminals and commercial teams
• Class 1 Marine Certificate of Competency, Master Mariner / Chief Engineer background, or a relevant degree in Marine Studies, Engineering, Business or similar
• strong HSSE awareness in a marine / oil and gas environment
• excellent written and spoken English
