Job Description
Petroplan is currently looking for an Instrument Commissioning Engineer to support a long-term project with one of our clients in the UAE.
This is a resident (non-rotational) role, offering involvement across major onshore and offshore oil & gas projects from engineering through to commissioning and handover.
Key details:
• Resident role (non-rotational)
• Minimum 1-year contract
• Based in the UAE
• 6 days per week / 9 hours per day
• Start date: February 2026
This role will provide hands-on instrumentation commissioning support and technical input throughout the project lifecycle, working closely with engineering, commissioning, production and project teams.
• ONC / HND in Engineering or equivalent
• 10+ years’ experience in Instrument design, installation, hook-up and commissioning
• Strong hands-on Mechanical Completion, Pre-commissioning and Commissioning experience
• Offshore oil & gas experience
• Proven experience with Instrumentation systems, DCS, PLC and HMI
• Knowledge of PTW, LOTO, Process Safety Management and commissioning safety procedures
• Ability to provide commissioning input during engineering and detailed design phases
• Strong English written and verbal communication skills
• Comfortable working in a remote, multi-cultural environment
• Ability to deputise for senior personnel when required
• Valid UAE driving licence
